Long Remembered

Speaking freeform
origami shapes
without ink
her fingers work
her mind’s words into a private
Gettysburg Address
with as much irony as
 “The world will little note…”

this note
this folding of frustration
this crease of concern
this tear of transition
“Perhaps,” I say
as edges
 seek sanctuary in boundaries

  1. I love this piece, it has rhythm to it. My favorite lines are "this folding of frustration" and "this crease of concern"...they are so vivid and intense.

  2. this is a really nice piece. The ending line about edges and boundries has a lot of strength to it.
